Liberalism is Life	Falsehood: Liberals believe in the right to die for the unborn if others see fit
Liberals believe in a strong military	What world is this in? Liberals vote against every military bill that comes their way. Kerry, the #1 liberal in the Senate, for example, has never voted in favor of a weapons program.
Liberals believe in availability of food and shelter for its needy, not as a hand out but as a reasonable step toward self-reliance…	WRONG. Liberals believe in handing out as much from the government as possible, moving needy people toward lifetime government dependence.
Liberalism is Liberty	WRONG. Liberalism exists in part to deny people their individual liberties, and states their guaranteed Constitutional rights. Liberals are AGAINST the liberty and freedom of bearing arms, of choosing where their tax dollars should go. Liberals are against people’s financial liberty; they prefer the government to collect and decide what to do with people’s money.
Our founders established a nation where personal belief and self-determination are protected, not persecuted, where hard work is rewarded, not demanded, and where each person is bestowed with the ability to better his life because of citizenship, not class.	This is true of the founding fathers; however liberals detest all these notions. They desire to enhance class warfare by levying heavy taxes on anybody that makes more than his neighbor, thereby NOT rewarding his hard work, but punishing it.
Liberals believe in freedom of speech to protect us from political oppression.	Negative. Liberals believe in free speech only when it does not criticize any of their political candidates or principles.
Liberals believe in sound regulations to protect us from economic oppression.	They may believe that, but fewer regulations, not more, are what is needed to stave off economic oppression.
Liberals believe in just laws to protect us from social oppression.	Wrong. It is always liberals proposing laws with double standards. Laws that affect black, white, male, or female people in radically unequal manners. These laws serve to promote racism, sexism, and class warfare, despite their intentions.
Liberals believe in quality education to protect us from the oppression of ignorance.	Liberals actually believe in teaching kids in public schools with a 90% liberal teacher workforce. That’s not quality education; that’s brainwashing. They also believe Creationism can not be taught as an option, but evolution should be taught as fact, even though there’s much more evidence in support of the former.
Liberalism is the Pursuit of Happiness	Liberalism is the Spreading of Misery.
It is the freedom to create and environment where an individual can excel. A truly free society is where members can rise above their limitations and expand their futures. Liberals believe in equal opportunities for all to rise above our means.	They actually believe in stifling freedom by imposing excessive taxes, particularly on those earning higher wages. This punishes those who wish to succeed by working hard and accruing wealth. Liberal progressive tax schedules yearn to put everybody in the same boat economically, with nobody rising above their means.
Liberals believe every family should have an equal opportunity to make this world better for their children.	Actually, most liberals believe in executing unborn children so they won’t have to deal with them. Further, they wish to tear down the pillars of morality that this country has historically espoused, making life hell for those who follow and want to raise their children in a moral fashion.
Liberalism is pro individual, pro family	ABSOLUTELY NOT! Liberalism, as described above, punishes individuals who wish to be Christian, or those who desire to earn more money without giving it all away to the government. Liberalism does not like the family. They try to tear it apart with relaxation of divorce and adultery laws, with premarital sex for schoolchildren, and extramarital sex for married adults. They believe in homosexual marriage, they believe in abortion, they believe that the state, not the parents, should raise the children (called brainwashing in most countries).
Liberalism is pro community and pro country	Liberalism pounds on communities, using their legal branch, the ACLU (Anti-Christian Litigation Unit) to remove community nativity scenes, and their sense of joy at Christmas time by banning certain songs and mentions of Christ (who incidentally is the reason the holiday exists). Pro country? Are you kidding me? They hate America. They’d rather be in France or Germany. Just ask John Kerry. He’ll do whatever it takes to please France, but Americans are people whose soldiers do nothing but commit atrocities overseas.
Liberalism is, by definition, the heart and soul of what it means to be American	This is just laughable. The heart and soul of America is not about baby-killing, not about tearing down the family, taxing against success, promoting class warfare, and special unequal rights. Liberalism is far out of touch with the heart and soul of America, which is actually quite conservative.
It stands against tyranny of any kind, whether international or domestic.	Absolute falsehood. Liberals espouse judicial tyranny in the form of rogue judges making laws such as homosexual marriage, that are completely out of the mainstream of what America wants. Liberals cannot advance their agenda thru legislative means because it would never advance. Instead they use judicial oligarchy to illegally write laws from the bench then enforce them with the feared robes. Liberals do not believe in standing up to foreign tyranny either. See Saddam Hussein. They were apathetic about Hitler too.
Liberalism strives to eliminate the idea of a wasted life by not wasting resources and opportunities.	Liberals are the kings of wasting lives and resources. They waste more government money than a world of conservatives could. They think socialist bureaucratic, wasteful programs are a good investment. They think protecting our nation militarily is a bad investment.
Conservatives get their label from the desire to "conserve" a style of living.	WRONG. Nice try, though. Conservatives wish to conserve the Constitution and the principles that our founding fathers laid down their blood, sweat, tears, and lives for. Those are namely: equality, justice, liberty, pursuit of happiness, and FREEDOM, including religion and the right to bear arms.
Conservatives want to define what your family should be	Wrong again. A family is what it is. Conservatives just want government to protect families, unlike liberals who wish to tear them apart.
Conservatives are pro-money, but that often translates into monopolies, which hurt small business and competition, which hurts us all	Everybody is pro-money, aren’t they? Except maybe the Unabomber and a couple other radical liberal psychos. That’s why regulations, mostly introduced by Republicans, exist against the formation of monopolies. Pro-business and pro-monopoly are two completely different items. The truth is liberals are against people making more money than the next, they think that’s not fair. They would have everybody pool their earnings to the government and have the government redistribute equally. This is called communism in its purist sense. We know from experience, that this does not work. Everybody gets poor except the government officials.
Liberals protect small businesses by regulating the larger ones and by breaking up monopolies	Liberals inhibit the growth of all businesses by raising taxes. They hate business. They don’t realize that without business, money can not be made. They are thus retarded.
Liberals protect workers in order to create a healthy workforce that will help businesses grow	Liberals brainwash workers into joining a union so that they can not only give up part of their money to the IRS, but give another significant chunk to rich union leaders who do nothing for them.
Conservatives are often for one dominant religion, and are, therefore, against others	So everybody that is for one religion is against all others? Get a grip. In the liberal mind, nobody should have religion, except if it’s Islam, and therefore launches wars against Christians, whom they hate.
Liberals support complete freedom of religion and from religion so that all citizen are free to choose the manner in which faith is a part of their lives	Conservatives are the people who espouse that notion. Liberals simply exist to denounce and persecute Christians, who they feel inferior towards.
Liberals strive to keep government completely out of a family's religious choices	Wrong again. Liberals want to use government to tell families and individuals that they can’t be Christian in the public sector.
Conservatives want to stop homosexuals, stop abortions, stop the women's movement, and stop freedom of expression through the use of censorship	While it is true that conservatives want to stop the murder of innocent unborn children, we really wish Hollywood and liberal public school teachers would stop brainwashing our kids into thinking homosexuality is a valid lifestyle. We don’t want our children mistakenly thinking that homosexuality is a healthy happy lifestyle choice. Freedom of expression is fine; I don’t know any conservatives against that.
Liberals leave it up to the parents to teach such values to their children	ABSOLUTE BALD FACED LIE! Conservatives want to leave that job to parents. Liberals want the government to endorse their “alternative” (translation: immoral) lifestyle choices and teach it to everybody’s kids. Liberals want to raise kids in the public school classroom, where their brainwashing can overcome parents’ teaching. By raising taxes, liberals can force both parents to work, causing the parents to spend less time with their kids, and rely on the schools to raise the children. Remember, “It takes a village,” according to Hillary.
Conservatives are for one specific kind of morality	What other kind of morality is there? There’s either morality or there’s not. The specific kind of morality we’re going to use is what the majority of society says it is, via legislation (NOT via court rulings).
Liberals are for the morality of free choice, where each person or family decides their own values	By attempting to erase boundaries of immorality, liberals argue that nobody’s morality is right, it’s whatever you want it to be. This leads to society where if somebody thinks killing is OK for him, then it is OK. They don’t understand that there is actually right and wrong, good and bad.
Liberals want the government to protect our freedom to choose what is important to us rather than to impose the laws and codes of another's morality	In other words, they want government to legislate for their version of morality, which is non-existent. And they can’t get it done via legislation so they use the courts.
Conservatives see the military as a means to impose their values and standards on others	That statement doesn’t even make sense, and in fact borders on absurdity. Conservatives like a strong military to protect our country from harm, which is its job.
Liberals see the military as a vital protection of our freedoms and our liberties, giving us a space in which to pursue happiness	Absolutely incorrect. Liberals want to do away with the military, and trust our national security to the UN. They would leave us open to whoever wants to attack our country and take us over, that way we could hopefully become a communist nation at some point (utopia!)
Abortion/Contraception - Liberty means the freedom to control your body, your reproductive system, and your future.	WRONG. Liberty does not mean that killing of babies is legal. It doesn’t matter whose baby it is or what body it is in, it’s still an innocent child. If you approve of killing one’s own child, why don’t you approve of killing anybody’s child? Do you want somebody killing your children? They’re not inanimate property, they’re humans. IMPORTANT NOTE: there has never been a written law in favor of abortion. The Constitution and written laws of this nation are against abortion. Once again, this agenda had to be launched thru the courts, who legislated a version of morality that the majority of this country did not want.
Affirmative Action - Liberty means having fair opportunities for those in society who are discriminated against.	I thought discrimination was illegal. Why can’t we just prosecute the perpetrators rather than giving people special benefits because of their skin color, which we’re supposed to be blind to, remember?
Education - Liberty means the freedom to learn in order to build a better future for yourself, your family, your community, and your country.	That is correct. I wonder why no liberals believe that. Let’s not confuse “liberty” with “liberalism” since they are in fact opposites.
Environment - Liberty means the fair use of our nation's natural resources for all citizens. Where possible, without unreasonable restriction to private enterprise, the government should strive to protect our natural environment so all can enjoy its bounty.	“Fair use” apparently does not include logging, which is necessary to prevent millions of trees from being burned down unnecessarily. Liberals so insanely try to “protect” the trees that they don’t realize they’re endangering all the trees and more importantly, people in the towns between them, when they disallow logging. Fire lines (caused by logging) prevent fires from spreading, to the next forest, to the next town, etc. Without them, the entire state burns down. Liberals are too foolish to realize this. To liberals, trees and animals take precedent over the value of human life.
Gun Control - Liberty means the freedom to protect yourself, your family, and your property, with deadly force if necessary. People have a right to keep guns for such a purpose. People also have a right to use guns in sporting activities and in the event that citizens should be called on to form a citizen militia.	That is correct. Missing from this is that people have the right to protect themselves with firearms from illegal government intrusions, which is the major reason this amendment was added to the Bill of Rights.
We do not, however, have a right to own all the latest people-killing technology. The People, through the government, can restrict some of the more deadly weapons being sold today.	Who says we don’t have that right? Does the Constitution say that? The people through legislation (NOT VIA THE LIBERAL ACTIVIST COURTS) should have the right to legislate according to what they think reasonable arms are. And the courts should DEFEND the right to bear arms, according to the Constitution, not infringe on it.
Health - Liberty means the freedom to overcome physical limitations in order to better yourself, your family, your community, and your country.	It takes more than freedom to overcome physical limitations. It takes hard work, perseverance, and sometimes miracles.
Regulations - Liberty means the freedom to live and work in an environment that best allows individuals and families to grow in the pursuit of happiness. Bad air, bad water, bad living and working conditions only stifle that liberty.	True. Not mentioned is that liberals want to choke the citizens with so many regulations that they can no longer function happily and normally. Regulations on toilet flow, what fertilizer to use, etc.
Sexuality - Liberty means the freedom to share mutual intimate affection with the person of your choice, regardless of gender.	Is that in the Constitution? I may have missed that. Last I checked, sodomy laws were up to the states, and most have or had them in the books, until liberal activist courts butted in and started legislating against them. Why don’t we continue to leave this issue to the people and the legislatures, and NOT the courts to decide our morality for us? Liberty, to me, means to not have to see or hear the immorality of homosexuality, which is disgusting, in every day life.
Substance Abuse - Liberty means the freedom to decide what you put in your body. Unless the use of a substance is a danger to unwilling victims, its use should be kept legal. In situations where use of a substance may or may not effect bystanders, regulations - such as in the case with tobacco - should be enacted to protect the bystander without denying the individual's choice to use the substance. Smoking and non-smoking areas in public places are a prime example of this.	So doing crack is good for society, and smoking is bad for it. Is that the lesson? People don’t act in a vacuum, as the liberals would have you believe. Your behavior, including drug addictions, can adversely affect others. Drug users are known to have more health problems and violent crime rates. They are not good for society. Tobacco smoke has never caused somebody to have violent behavior, except in the case of perhaps liberal smoking Nazis getting too upset when somebody near them smokes.
Taxation - Liberty is found within a system. That system does not happen by itself. It is created and supported by us, the People, and it is funded by our labors. The money we pay in taxes is what allows us to thrive in Liberty and work in fairness. Reasonable taxation is necessary because without it, many of us would find it difficult to get paid even a fraction of what we are paid now. And those who benefit more from the system should expect to pay more to help support it.	This is true up to the point where it says “would find it difficult”. How would we find it difficult to make money without being taxed? I think it would be easier. People who benefit should expect to pay more, but only because the same percentage applying to them equals a higher total amount. They should not be taxed at a higher percentage, which goes against everything that is fair and just. Nobody should be penalized for doing well.
Women's/Minority Rights - Liberty means the freedom to be valued and judged on talent and work, not on the physical characteristics over which we have no control.	So why is it then, that liberals believe in, and attempt to legislate, giving minorities and women special access in hiring, thus judging them on physical characteristics with nothing to do with their work? This is so hypocritical, typical of liberalism.
In closing let me state that freedom sometimes brings situations we don't like. Some people will choose to use their freedom to engage in activities that go against our personal values. It is a great temptation to use our democratic rights to try and enshrine our own personal values - whether they come from religious or humanistic origins - in the laws of the nation. The inherent problem with this is that when Liberty is restrained by any one group's values, even if that group represents the majority of the population at the time, it can easily be changed from one generation to the next, meaning that you could be forced to live under someone else's values as easily as you might force someone to live under yours.	In closing, let me say that this whole debate has been very informative. We learned that liberals are in fact, hypocrites, that don’t believe in the values that they claim to, but in fact undermine those very ideas thru activist court legislation at every turn. It is not a “temptation” to try to preserve the majority’s moral values in the nation; it is our right to use the legislature (NOT THE COURTS) to pass laws, which are simply a reflection of that society’s version of morality. It is NOT up to a body of 1, 3, 5, or 9 people to legislate our morality. Suing is a liberal philosophy. When they don’t get their way, they sue. This is because they can’t vote their legislation into law, since it is a minority point of view.
The only true defense of our values is the defense of our liberties. If you don't want to be forced to live under a foreign set of values, don't force others to live under yours. Instead, fight for the freedom to believe as you want while others believe as they want. Freedom of choice, as long as it does not infringe on another's rights, is the foundation upon which this nation was built. Liberalism is the ideology that strives to defend that freedom for everyone. And for that reason it pleases me to no end to state that I am proud to be Liberal.	Headline statement true. First of all, if we live under legislated morality as passed by Congress, that is not a foreign set of values, it is an American set of values. If you don’t want to live under other people’s values, then vote for the appropriate politicians that believe in your set of values. If enough people agree with your set of morals, you will get you way, otherwise you will live by the morals that the majority of society agrees with. That’s what democracy and representative republics are all about. Liberalism is the ideology that strives to defend freedom for liberals and oppression for everybody else. It is tantamount to communism, and I would seriously question my beliefs if I were a liberal. The last thing I would be is proud of it.
